Dear Parents/Guardians,
Gaelic Football Coaching
The children in all classes had their first Gaelic Football coaching session with Paul last Thursday and will continue for the next 5 weeks.
Swimming
The children in 1st-4th class will start their 6 week swimming session on Friday February 6th. The cost is €60 per child including bus. Thanks to the Parents’ Association for paying €500 towards the cost of buses.
‘Boost to Literacy’
The children in 1st class started the ‘Boost to Literacy’ initiative last week. Please listen to your child’s reading on a daily basis and please sign the Reading Record sheet daily also.
Board of Management Meeting
There is a Board of Management meeting in the school this Thursday January 29th.
School Closure
The school will be closed on Monday February 2nd.
Hot School Meals
The cooker for the Hot School Meals has been installed in the servery at the hall and is due to be wired this Tuesday. We have been given no specific start date for the Hot Meals just yet but as soon as we get more information we will let you know.
Active Break Every Day Challenge (2026)
We have started the ‘Active Break Every Day Challenge! in the school. All classes will have a 10/15 minute daily activity during the course of the school day. We hope to come together as a school on Friday for a ‘Whole School’ Active Break! The Active Break Challenge will last for a few weeks.
Credit Union Quiz
The Tara & District Credit Union Quiz takes place on Monday February 9th in Skryne N.S. Mrs Vaughan is organising the quiz teams in our school again this year.
