Dear Parents/Guardians,

Christmas Annual

At the start of October we introduced the ‘Re-turn’ initiative for the recycling of bottles/cans. We have used the money collected from the scheme to purchase the Folens Christmas Annuals for the children. All children in the school received a FREE Christmas Annual today with a pencil/pen. A big thanks to the Rathfeigh school community for making the initiative such a success. A big thanks to our Student Council for organising the collection of bottles/cans on a daily basis.

Colourful Jumper Day

Tomorrow Tuesday 10th is ‘Colourful Jumper Day’. The children are welcome to come to school with a jumper of their choice. Our ‘Colourful Jumper Day’ is in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause please send in a small donation in an envelope tomorrow.

Student Council Christmas Hamper Draw

Our Student Council members (Jane, Aoibhinn, Lucia & Reagan) started selling tickets today for the Christmas hamper draw. Tickets cost €2.00 for one strip or €5.00 for three strips. Tickets will remain on sale until Tuesday 17th December. We would be very grateful if parents/guardians can donate a few items for the hampers particularly books, toys etc.

Gaelic Football Coach

This Friday is the final Gaelic Football coaching session for 2024. We thank Caroline who has come to Rathfeigh N.S. throughout 2024 and will be returning in the New Year.

Junior Achievement Ireland

The children in 3rd – 6th class were visited by personnel from Junior Achievement Ireland last week. The 5th/6th class had an interesting lesson on how data is harvested and used, targeted advertising and how to create strong passwords. The 3rd/4th class had a lesson on entrepreneurship and ideas for starting up a business.

Christmas Carol Service

Our annual Christmas Carol service takes place on Friday December 20th at 11am in the school hall. We look forward to a big turnout in support of the children’s big day. The school closes at 12 Noon on December 20th for the Christmas Holidays.

Is Mise,
