Dear Parents/Guardians,

School Closures

The school will be closed on the following days this week.

  • Wednesday 27th November – Maths In-Service Day for teachers
  • Friday 29th November – School used for Election Day Voting

Tara & District Credit Union Art Competition

We had many entries in a variety of age groups for the Tara & District Credit Union Competition a few weeks ago. The entries from all the children were of a high standard. Tara & District Credit Union have just contacted us in relation to a few prize winners from Rathfeigh N.S.

  • 8-10 years – 2nd place (Niall)
  • 11-13 years – 3rd place (Ella)

Congratulations to Niall, Ella and all the entrants.

Christmas Carol Service

Our annual Christmas Carol Service takes place in the school hall on Friday December 20th at 11am. This is a really exciting event for the children as they will be performing in front of a large crowd. We look forward to seeing all parents/guardians in attendance. After the Carol Service our Parents’ Association Christmas Raffle will take place. This is an important fundraiser with great prizes. The Parents’ Association will have details of the raffle in the next week or so.

Parent/Guardian Teacher Meetings

We thank everyone who was able to attend last week’s parent/guardian teacher meeting. If you were unable to attend please make an appointment with the class teacher.

Junior Achievement Ireland

5th/6th class were visited last week by Steve from Junior Achievement Ireland for exciting and interesting lessons on technology and robots. The two 45minute sessions were thoroughly enjoyed by the children and they engaged really well with the topics. 5th/6th class will have two more sessions in the coming weeks. We thank Junior Achievement Ireland for visiting our school as we are the only school in Meath that they have visited.

‘Re-turn’ Initiative

The introduction of the ‘Re-turn’ initiative to the school has exceeded our expectations. We thank our Student Council for organising it daily and to all the parents/guardians/teachers who have returned the bottles/cans. The money generated so far from the initiative will be used in early December for the benefit of all the children. Please continue to send in bottles/cans with the ‘Re-turn’ logo.

Is Mise,
