Dear Parents/Guardians,
‘Re-turn’ Scheme
We started the ‘Re-turn’ Scheme in the school last week with the first bottles collected on Tuesday. The number of bottles we collected far exceeded our expectations of collecting around 80 bottles weekly; we collected 265 bottles due in part to our ‘healthy lunch optional’ day on Friday. These bottles will be returned weekly to the vending machine at supermarkets. A big thanks to Maria for returning the bottles during the weekend. As the return of a large number of bottles is a time consuming job we hope a different parent/guardian each week will undertake the job. Our student council members will come up with a few ideas on how to spend the money collected before Christmas. Well done to Jane, Aoibhinn, Lucia and Reagan for taking the responsibility organising this big task daily.
Maths Week
This week we are celebrating Maths week in the school. Over the course of the week we will be doing a variety of interesting maths activities with the children. Please google ‘Maths Week Ireland’ for a variety of fun maths activities that can be done with your child at home.
Children’s Book Festival
The pupils in 3rd- 6th class are travelling by bus to Trim Library this Wednesday 16th as part of the Meath Libraries ‘Children’s Book Festival 2024’. They will be leaving the school by bus at 9.20am and returning at 11.30am. If you haven’t paid the €8 already for the bus you can still do so on the Aladdin link.
Gaelic Football
Our Girls’ Gaelic football team had a great victory last week. Despite winning three matches they have just lost out on reaching the knock-out stages. Well done to everyone on the panel.
Our Boys’ Gaelic football team have reached the quarter final stage. We haven’t been given any details yet about who or when we are playing the game.
Confirmation Letter
The children in 6th class were given a letter today to bring home to their parents/guardians from the Bishop of Meath in regards to their upcoming Confirmation.
Reminder: Swimming, Art & Crafts, Insurance & Homework Journal
We sent you a link for payment. If you are sending in cash to the School please put it in an envelope with your child’s name and class on it.
Is Mise,
