A Thuisti,
Welcome back everyone after the mid-term break. We had a fantastic day on the day of the holidays. The children really enjoyed dressing up for the fancy dress and were excellent in performing Irish songs and poems for all the parents in attendance. The cake sale was a huge success. We made €285.80 which will be used to purchase science and mathematical equipment. A big thanks to all the parents who baked such a wonderful variety of buns and cakes for the sale.
Swimming in Navan Swimming Pool starts this Wednesday (November 6th) for six weeks for all children in third, fourth and fifth classes. The cost per pupil is €45.00. If you haven’t already paid please send in the money in an envelope as soon as possible.
Following the announcement by the National Council for Special Education on Monday 21st October with the revised allocations of resource teaching support in primary schools we will now have a part-time resource teacher with St. Mary’s Convent Trim instead of Slane N.S. (due to Slane N.S. receiving an increase in their resource hours). This position is presently being advertised and will hopefully be filled by late November or early December.
Circus Photography will be coming to the school tomorrow to take Junior Infants Individual/Class Group Photographs. If parents of children in Senior Infants to Sixth classes wish to have their childrens photographs taken please return the form or let Helen know in the morning.
Parent Teacher Meetings will be held on Wednesday 27th November and Thursday 28th November. School will close at 1.40p.m. on both days. There is no school bus. On those days meetings will start at 1.55p.m. and end at 4.00p.m. approximately.
We have our annual Book Fair in the school hall from November 13th to November 15th. Parents will be able to visit the fair from 8.45a.m. to 9.00a.m., 1.30p.m. to 2.00p.m. and 2.30p.m. to 3.00p.m. If there are any parents who are able to help out taking orders at any of these times please let Helen know.
We would like to invite parents of second class pupils to the school this Friday (November 8th ) at 1.50p.m. for feedback on the Literacy Lift Off Programme.
Literacy Lift Off for first class starts next week.
The Voluntary Contribution of €70.00 can be paid in cash, cheque or standing order.
Is mise,
Seamus Tansley.
