A Thuisti,
The children enjoyed GOAL Jersey Day last Friday. All the children participated in a penalty shoot-out competition in the hall and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. We collected €100.39 for GOAL which will benefit children in the developing world.
First and Second class pupils will be visiting Ashbourne Library this Tuesday (October 15th) as part of the Meath County Council Children’s Book Festival. The children will be going by bus. We will need two parents to come to the library. Please let Mrs Campbell know in the morning. The bus costs €5.00.
This week is Maths Week Ireland. The aim of Maths Week is to encourage children at a young age to have a positive image and attitude towards maths. Maths is all around us and should be enjoyed. The websites mangahigh.com and mathsisfun.com should be used regularly to reinforce what is being learned in school. Both these websites can be accessed on our school website.
We will be having our annual Halloween Fancy Dress in the school on Friday 25th October. We also hope to have a ‘Design a Pumpkin Competition’ as well as a Cake Sale on that day. School will close on Friday 25th October at 1.40p.m. for all classes.
Today is Ms. Campion’s last day teaching third and fourth classes. We would like to thank Ms Campion for her dedication and commitment in teaching third and fourth classes over the last few weeks. We wish her continued success in her future career.
Accord: The children in sixth class will be doing the Accord RSE Programme on Thursday 24th October. Please return the consent form as soon as possible.
Reminder – If you haven’t already paid for the Irish Independent (€7.00) and Bus to Library (€5.00) please send in money as soon as possible.
