Gaelic Football
Our boys’ team are through to the quarter-finals at least after defeating Rathregan last week. A victory over Bellewstown tomorrow would result in a semi-final place. We are playing Bellewstown tomorrow at 1.50p.m. – leaving the school at 1.20p.m. Please arrange a lift for your child if you can’t attend yourself.
Our girls’ team don’t have a game this week. A victory in one of their two remaining games will result in a quarter-final place at least.
Swimming
The third swimming lesson for the children in third to sixth class takes place this Tuesday. A small number of families have yet to pay. Please do so as soon as possible. We will send out the link for payment again today.
Computers
Computer classes with Colm (All Classes) start this Wednesday for four weeks. The cost for the four weeks is €8.00 per pupil. Please send in the money in an envelope with your child’s name and class on it as soon as possible.
Parents’ Association A.G.M.
I have been invited to attend the Parents’ Association A.G.M. on October 11th at 7.30p.m. in the school. (Please note the date of the A.G.M. has been changed from 4th to the 11th October) A vibrant Parents’ Association is vital for our school. We are expecting a big turnout. We hope that at least one member of each household is present on the night particularly with plenty of notice given.
H.S.E. Immunisation
Every Senior infant will bring home an envelope from the HSE today in connection with the Children’s Nasal Flu Vaccination Programme. We ask all parents/guardians to complete the form (even if they are not consenting) and return it to the school by Thursday 28th September.
Speech & Drama
Kate Forde was in the school last Monday and she brought each class down to the hall for a taster session of her Speech & Drama class. Kate’s classes begin tomorrow 1.40p.m. – 2.40p.m. Junior/Senior Infants and 2.40p.m. – 3.40p.m. 1st – 6th class. If you wish to enrol your child/children for Speech & Drama please contact Kate.
Art & Craft, Insurance and Homework Journals
We have a some parents/guardians who haven’t paid for the items above. We will send out the link for payment again today or if you wish you can send in cash in an envelope with your child’s name and class on it.
Board of Management Meeting
There is a Board of Management meeting in the school this evening.
School Closure
The school is closed this Friday (29th September) and Monday (October 2nd) as per the school calendar.
