A Thuisti,

First Communion

Congratulations to our Second class pupils who received their First Communion last Saturday. The sunny weather really added to the occasion. It was a beautiful ceremony and we thank Mrs Vaughan for preparing the children so well for their big day. A big thanks also to Ms. O’Donoghue for conducting the choir and to Helen for preparing the Mass Booklet. Our Parents’ Association did a great job once again providing food and refreshments in the hall after Saturday’s ceremony.

Gaelic Football

Our Girls’ gaelic football team are through to the semi-finals after a great win over Cortown last week. Our boys’ team are playing Kilbride tomorrow in Skryne at 12.30p.m. We will be leaving the school at 12 noon. They will be playing in their semi-finals later this week. (Friday if they win tomorrow or Thursday if they lose tomorrow).

Fire Brigade

Ashbourne Fire Brigade are visiting 3rd and 4th classes tomorrow morning for a fire safety briefing.

Green Schools

Each class has been provided with three bins for disposal of rubbish. A yellow bin for paper only, a blue bin for the blue towels and a container for composting i.e. fruit etc. All wrappers and left over lunches will be brought home in the childrens’ lunch boxes. We aim to significantly reduce the amount of waste in school by educating the children to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Is mise,

Phil Mc Auley.

Deputy Principal.
