Facebook Grant

As I mentioned last week we have received a Facebook grant to the value of €21,564. The application was cross generational. It will be used to help improve the digital literacy skills of the elderly in our community -Rathfeigh Nursing Home, the ‘Tuesday Club’ at the RST Centre and adult computer classes in the school. We will also use the grant to purchase chrome books and interactive whiteboards to assist the children in their digital literacy skills. We look forward to working on this project over the next few years.

New Junior Infants

We would like to invite parents/guardians and their children starting school in September to the school on Thursday June 9th from 1.30p.m. to 2.30p.m.

Girls Football

The girls are playing this Wednesday in Skryne against Gibbstown from 12.30 – 1.10p.m. We will be leaving the school at 12.10p.m. We will need help with lifts. If you can’t bring your own child to the match please organise a lift for your child.

Mindfulness/Well-Being

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Councillor Suzanne Jamal. It was through Suzanne’s Municipal District Allocation that we received €2500 from Meath County Council to further develop the mindfulness and well-being initiatives in the school.

Education Passport – 6th Class

Education Passport Materials support the transfer of pupil information from primary to post-primary school. The Education Passport materials support a three phase process to the transfer of pupils information to secondary schools. Parents/guardians of 6th class pupils, will be e-mailed the ‘My Child’s Profile’ sheet which should be returned by this Friday (6th). The children will complete the ‘My Profile’ sheet in school. School Reports will be e-mailed to parents/guardians in mid to late June. For more information google ‘Education Passport NCCA’.

School Tour

The children in all classes will be going to Tayto Park for the school tour on Friday June 10th.

Sixth Class Graduation

The 6th class graduation will take place on Wednesday June 22nd.

Newgrange Visit

The children in 3rd/4th class will be visiting Newgrange on Monday May 16th.

Standardised Tests

The standardised tests in Maths, English and Irish will be administered to the children in First to Sixth class on May 31st (Tuesday), June 1st (Wednesday) and June 2nd (Thursday)

First Communion Choir

First Communion is on Saturday May 14th in Rathfeigh Church at 11.00a.m. Ms. O’Donoghue is practising with the pupils from 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th classes. If your child is available to sing in the choir at the First Communion can you please put a note in his/her homework journal tonight confirming he/she can attend.

Odd Socks Day

This Friday is ‘Odd Socks’ day for Autism Ireland. We are collecting €2 per child.
