There is a Literacy Lift Off feedback meeting tomorrow (Tuesday 23rd) at 1.50p.m. for parents/guardians of children in First Class. There is a Literacy Lift Off meeting for parents/guardians of Senior Infant pupils on Thursday (February 25th) at 1.50p.m.
Pancake Tuesday was a great success again this year. The sixth class pupils did a fantastic job in making pancakes for all the pupils and staff in the school. They showed great maturity during the day and we are very proud of their efforts. A big thanks also to Nichola, Anastasia, Terri and Denise who helped the children in making the making the pancakes. Pictures of the children enjoying Pancake Tuesday in the school will be on the website later in the week.
We wish our U11 Quiz Team the best of luck in the Credit Union Quiz final which takes place this Friday (February 26th) at 7.30p.m. in the Ardboyne Hotel. We ask the children to be there at 7.10p.m. They should wear their school tracksuit and bring a drink. A big thanks to Mrs Vaughan for preparing the children so well for the quiz.
Our boys take part in the Mini 7’s gaelic football blitz in Skryne on Tuesday March 1st. They will have four games. We will be leaving the school at 2.00p.m. The games will be finished at 3.45p.m. approximately.
This week’s Frása na Seachtaine is Conas tá tú? (How are you) Tá/Níl mé go maith (I’m good/not good) and the Briathar na Seachtains is Ith (to eat) e.g. Ith do bhricfeasta, Ith an ceapaire etc. Older children should be able to say ‘An bhfuil cead agam mo lón a ithe’.
First class pupils will shortly start learning the tin whistle in school. The cost of the tin whistle and book is €15.00. Please send in the money in an envelope.
School Tours for all classes will take place on Friday June 10th.
The school is closed this Friday (February 26th) for the General Election.
