Enrolment Week

Enrolment Week for children starting in September is from February 4th to February 8th. Please collect an enrolment form from Helen in the office if your child is starting in September.

Literacy Lift Off

Literacy Lift Off (‘Power Hour’) started today for pupils in second class. This will continue for five weeks with feedback given to parents/guardians after the five weeks have been completed.

Part-Time Resource Teacher

Our part-time resource teacher Ms. Cooke will be teaching on Monday and Wednesday for the next four weeks.

Music – Tin Whistle

The children in 1st to 4th will be learning the tin whistle in school for the next few weeks. The children must ensure that they have their tin whistles and book in their bags daily.

Vision and Hearing Screening

Public Health nurses will visit the school on Monday 11th March to carry out Vision and Hearing screening on Junior Infants. The Junior Infants were given consent forms today. Parents/guardians must fill out these forms and return them to the school this week.

Cystic Fibrosis Ireland

We had a ‘ Christmas Jumper Day’ in aid of Cystic Fibrosis in December. They contacted us last week and thanked us for supporting them. We collected €218.05. A big thanks to everyone who contributed.

Credit Union Quiz

The Tara and District Credit Union Quiz takes place on Monday February 4th in Skryne school hall at 6.30p.m. Congratulations to all the children who got on the teams. We have entered four U13 teams and two U11 teams. A big thanks to Mrs. Vaughan for preparing the children for the quiz.

Meath/Tipperary Exhibition Match

Congratulations to Tom Lenehan after he was chosen to play at half time in the upcoming Meath/Tipperary match in Páirc Tailteann on January 27th.

Computer

Computer classes continue this week. Most people have paid at this stage. If you haven’t please pay as soon as possible.

School Jerseys

We are still missing a number of football jerseys/shorts/socks from children who were on the school football team. These need to be returned tomorrow. Both sets of jerseys were generously sponsored last year. Children who have lost their jerseys or don’t return them to the school will have to replace them at their own expense.

There is a Board of Management meeting in the school tonight.
