20th January, 2014.
A Thuisti,
First class pupils have completed the Literacy Lift Off programme. They will be re-tested this week in order to evaluate their progress. We would like to invite parents of the First class children to the school on Wednesday January 29th at 1.50p.m. for feedback on the children’s progress. I would like to thank all the Literacy Lift Off team Mrs Mc Auley, Mrs Long, Ms. O’Donoghue, Ms. Cullinane and Teresa Mangan for making the programme a great success.
The H.S.E. vaccination team will visit the school tomorrow Tuesday (January 21st). We ask all Junior Infant parents who wish to have their child vaccinated to return the form to the school tomorrow.
The M & M Theatrical Production of ‘ The Wizard of Oz ’ last Thursday was really enjoyed by the children and teachers alike. The feedback from the children was exceptionally positive and we hope to have them back again next year to perform “Jack and the Beanstalk”.
The children of Fifth and Sixth classes have been invited to take part in a Tag Rugby blitz in Ashbourne Rugby Club next Monday ( January 27th) from 10.30a.m. to 1.00p.m. We will be going by bus. The cost of the bus is €4.00. Please send in the money in an envelope as soon as possible,
The Junior and Senior Infants have a guest storyteller visiting their classroom this Wednesday at 10.30a.m. This has come about as a result of a pupil winning a colouring competition when they visited Duleek Library last October.
Next week is Catholic Schools Week. The theme is ‘Catholic Schools – Centres of Faith and Learning’ .
The school will be closed at 1.40p.m. for all pupils this Wednesday (January 22nd) to facilitate a Staff Meeting. Please note there is a school bus.
The Credit Union will be in the school this Thursday (January 23rd).
There is a Board of Management meeting this Thursday.
Is mise,
Seamus Tansley.
