A Thuisti,
Christmas Jumper Day
This Friday (December 17th) is a non-uniform day. We are asking the children to wear a Christmas jumper or colourful jumper on Friday. The children can also wear a Christmas hat. Healthy lunches are optional. Each class will be learning a song/poem during the week. We will be recording each performance on Friday and uploading it to Edmodo/website.
Student Council Christmas Raffle
We are hoping to have our Student Council Christmas Raffle on Wednesday 22nd December. We will have two hampers as prizes – one for children in Junior to 2nd and one for children in 3rd to 6th. The cost of tickets is €2 per strip or €5 for three strips. We thank all the parents/guardians who have already donated items for the raffle.
Parents’ Association Cake Sale
The Parents’ Association held a Cake Sale on December 5th. We would like to thank the committee for organising it and to all the parents/guardians who gave donations of cakes, buns etc and to everybody who supported the event. The cake sale raised €700.00.
Christmas Holidays
The school will close at 12 noon on Wednesday December 22nd for the Christmas holidays. There is no school bus at 12noon on Wednesday 22nd. The school will re-open on Thursday January 6th 2022.
‘The Hideaway’
As I mentioned in an e-mail to parents/guardians last week the video of ‘The Hideaway’ is on the school website. Again, we thank our SNA Nicola for all her efforts in putting the video together.
RST Newsletter
The local newsletter (RST) will be available online this weekend. I will e-mail all families the RST when I receive it at the weekend. We would be grateful if you could forward the RST to parents/guardians who may have children starting school in September 2022 as it is another method of promoting the school. Thanks.
Is mise,
Seamus Tansley.
