4th December, 2018.
The Christmas Fair organised by the Rathfeigh Parents’ Association and Skryne Ladies G.A.A. takes place this Sunday December 9th in Skryne Hall from 9.00a.m. to 1.00p.m. We hope everyone can attend the Fair as this is a vital fundraising event for our school. There will be a huge variety of crafts on sale e.g. Christmas decorations, Christmas trees, plants, wreaths etc plus all the arts and crafts which the children made last week. If you would like to donate items for the fair please contact the Parents’ Association ( chocolates, biscuits, candles, sweets, unused kids’ toys etc).
Christmas Shoebox Appeal
We are putting up our Christmas tree in the school this week. The children can bring their Charity Christmas Shoeboxes in this week and place them under the tree. The shoeboxes will be collected this Friday. This is a very worthy cause and we hope all the children can bring in a shoebox this week.
We are very fortunate to have acquired the services of local pottery sculpter Gráinne Rafter. Gráinne is well known throughout Ireland for her ‘one off ’ pottery pieces and she runs adult and children pottery classes. Gráinne is coming to our school tomorrow to do pottery lessons with all children on a Christmas theme. The cost per pupil is €2.00 please send in money in an envelope tomorrow.
This Friday is our last Credit Union before Christmas. It is also Ann’s final time in our school as she is retiring. Ann has come to the school on behalf of Tara & District Credit Union for a number of years. We will all miss Ann and particularly the children. She was always exceptionally friendly to the children and she always had time to talk individually to them on her weekly Friday visits. We wish Ann a happy and healthy retirement.
This week’s Briathar na Seachtaine is ‘Las’ (to light) e.g. Las na soilse (turn on the lights), Las an tine (light the fire). An bhfuil cead agam na soilse a lasadh ( Can I turn on the lights).
Folens Christmas Annuals are available from the office for €4.00. If you wish to buy one please send money in an envelope.
