Photographs

Circus Photography are visiting the school tomorrow for individual, family and junior infants class photographs. Forms must be in tomorrow morning if you wish to have photographs taken.

Drop Everything and Read (DEAR)

Every day this week we will be giving the children 10/15 minutes daily reading time in school. Please ensure that your child has a book to read in school during this time (DEAR). Please encourage your child to talk about the book they have read at home.

Gaeilge

This week’s Briathar na Seachtaine (verb of the week) is Ith (to eat) e.g. Ith do Lón (eat your lunch), Ith do bhricfeasta (eat your breakfast). An bhfuil cead agam an cáca a ithe ( can I eat the cake) etc.

Please encourage your child to use these verbs and phrases daily. Not all parents/guardians are confident in speaking Irish. If you need any help with phrases and verbs please let me know.

Gaelic Football

The boys’ gaelic football team play their first game tomorrow against Rathcairn in Skryne at 1.30p.m. We will be leaving the school at 1.10p.m. If you are unable to bring your child to the game please make arrangements with another parent/guardian.

The girls’ gaelic football team play their first game on Thursday 13th against Mount Hanover at 1.30p.m. We will be leaving the school at 12.50p.m. If your are unable to bring your child to the game please make arrangements with another parent/guardian.

Parental Permission Form

If you haven’t already returned the Parental Permission form please do so as soon as possible.

Attendance

The attendance rate for August is 98 %. The Statement of Strategy for School Attendance is on the school website.

Childrens’ Progress

If you would like to discuss any aspect of your childs’ progress in school – academic or socially- please contact the class teacher as soon as possible.

Art & Craft & Insurance

If you haven’t already paid for Art & Craft (€25) and Insurance (€8) please send in money in an envelope as soon as possible.
