4th April, 2016.

A Thuisti,

Welcome back. As we start the last term of the school year I would ask the children to continue working hard and always strive to do their best. If you would like to discuss any aspect of your child’s education please make an appointment with the class teacher. The children must wear their full school uniform every day except on P.E. days.

The pupils in sixth class will receive their Confirmation on Sunday April 17th in Skryne Church at 1.00p.m. They will have two practises next week – Monday April 11th from 9.30a.m. to 10.30a.m. and Thursday April 14th from 9.30a.m. – 10.30a.m. All children in sixth class must wear their full school uniform tomorrow as we will be taking their photograph for the Confirmation Booklet.

We will need pupils in fourth and fifth classes to sing in the choir on Confirmation Day. There are two choir practises next week – Tuesday April 12th from 9.30a.m. – 10.30a.m. and Thursday April 14th from 9.30a.m. – 10.30a.m. Please sign the slip below confirming whether you are available to sing in the choir on Confirmation Day.

On February 10th our colleague Eimear Boyd sadly passed away after a long battle with cancer aged 48. Eimear taught in Rathfeigh in the 90’s and was highly committed and dedicated to her job. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 and attended the Oncology Unit at Our Lady of Lourdes Drogheda. On April 8th her husband Padraig, family and friends are taking part in the ‘swim for a mile’ challenge to raise funds for cancer research and treatment services in Drogheda. In honour of Eimear we are having a jersey day this Friday April 8th.

If pupils wish to donate it will be greatly appreciated.

Is mise,

Seamus Tansley.
