9th February, 2015.

A Thuisti,

This week is Enrolment Week. Please call to the office this week for an enrolment form if your child is starting school in September 2015.

Safer Internet Day 2015 is celebrated tomorrow (Tuesday 10th). It is an EU wide initiative to promote a safer internet for all users. The theme is ‘Let’s create a better internet together’. You can get more information on www.saferinternet.ie and www.webwise.ie.

We will be inputting data for the Primary Online Database (POD) this week. If you haven’t already returned the forms please do so tomorrow (Tuesday 10th).

Tuesday February 17th is Shrove Tuesday. We have a tradition in the school of Sixth class pupils making a number of pancakes for all pupils in the school. We need a number of parents to help out on Pancake Tuesday from 9.15a.m. to 10.30p.m. If you can help on the morning please let Helen know. We need a few plug in pans for cooking the pancakes. We will not be using any spreads containing nuts as a child in the school has a nut allergy. Please let us know if your child is not to get a pancake.

Ash Wednesday is February 18th. Fr. Thomas will visit all classes on that day. If you would not like your child to receive ashes please let the class teacher know.

All classes from Senior Infants to Sixth will be doing the Stay Safe Programme after the mid –term break. Please find attached the ‘Parental Consent Form’ which must be filled out for all children and returned by Wednesday 11th February. Each family has received a copy of the ‘Stay Safe A Parent’s Guide’ Booklet today.

We have taken various photographs of the children’s work for the school website. They will be on the school website later in the week in the ‘Gallery ‘ section.

The school will be closed on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th February for the mid-term break.

Is mise,

Seamus Tansley.
