19th January, 2015.

A Thuisti,

The Department of Education and Skills is currently in the process of developing an individualised database of primary school pupils known as the Primary Online Database (POD). Please find attached the ‘Information note’ for P.O.D. More information can be found on the “POD” area of www.education.ie or Circular 0017/2014 which can be found on  the I.N.T.O. or Department of Education and Skills websites. On Monday the 26th January we will be sending out a Personal Data Form to be completed for each pupil.

Fifth and Sixth class pupils are visiting Newgrange Visitor Centre tomorrow (Tuesday 20th). We will be leaving the school at 9.30a.m. and returning at 12.30p.m. Because of the cold conditions all children should bring a coat, hat and gloves. Children can bring a packed lunch and a drink. The cost of the bus is €5.00. Please send in money in an envelope.

Swimming continues for First, Third and Fourth classes this Wednesday. If any parents/guardians can help out at the pool please let Helen know tomorrow.

Due to Health and Safety reasons  I would ask parents to walk with their children to the school hall door when conditions are icy.

We will have four quiz teams representing our school in the Credit Union Quiz which will take place in Skryne School Hall on Monday February 2nd at 6.30p.m. I would like to thank Mrs Vaughan for preparing the children for the quiz.

There is a Pre-Communion Mass practice for second class pupils in Rathfeigh Church this Friday 23rd at 11.00a.m. We will need help with lifts.

There is a Board of Management meeting this Thursday (January 22nd).

The school is closed on Friday January 30th.

Is mise,

Seamus Tansley.

Priomh Oide.
