A Thuisti,

Welcome back. I hope the children had an enjoyable and restful summer holidays and are ready for the school year ahead. Our new Junior Infants start today and we are confident that they will settle into their new surroundings. The Junior Infants will go home at 12 noon up and to and including Friday 2nd September. From Monday 5th September they will go home at 1.40p.m.

If you have any concern about any aspect of your child’s schooling please contact the school and make an appointment to see the class teacher. Parents/Guardians must sign their child’s journal daily when homework is completed and check also for notes. Our Homework Policy can be found on the school website www.rathfeighns.org or from the office.

We would like to thank the Parents’ Association and Bridget Copeland in particular for organising the Book Rental Scheme again this year. We ask the children to be extra careful with their books as they need to be passed on in good condition.

At the start of each year we ask all parents/guardians for their permission for their children to participate in certain activities. Please read the Parental Permission Form and tick the relevant boxes and return the form to us by Friday September 2nd.

I would like to remind parents/guardians that our school is a ‘Nut Free’ school due to pupils in the school having life-threatening allergies to nuts. The Administration of Medicines Policy is on the school website.

Please find attached some information on School Attendance and Punctuality.

Mrs Berrill starts today as Job Sharing Teacher with Mrs Campbell. We wish her happiness and success in her time here in Rathfeigh.
